Merritone Family Reunion & Homecoming

Merritone is a legendary sound system which started in the 1950s. This year marks 67 years of its existence. The Merritone Reunion was the brainchild of Winston Blake who started it in the 1970s. This will be the 27th staging of the week-long celebration of Merritone Music which attracts Jamaicans/diaspora and other foreigners to the destination. This is a week-long celebration of Merritone Music which attracts visitors as well as Jamaicans at home and in the Diaspora. The week begins with a Thanksgiving service at Webster Memorial United Church and features a series of musical events in Kingston. It culminates with a 5-day 4-night gathering over the National Heroes Weekend at the Melia Braco All-inclusive Resort with several activities showcasing Jamaican music and culture. Merritone is a celebration of togetherness, great music, and good vibes.
